How it works
Sixes is a round robin for a foursome. The eighteen splits into three six-hole matches, and the partnerships change at every one, so by the 18th green you’ve played with each of the other three players and against each of them too. Players are seeded P1 to P4 by handicap and the organizer chooses the order the partnerships come round. Shotgun start on 10? The segments follow the order you play, not the numbers on the card.
Each six-hole stretch is its own match, worth one stake a player. Pick how a hole is decided: best net ball, both nets added, or the points games. Hi·Low pits low ball against low ball and high ball against high ball. Hi·Low·Total adds the combined score as a third point, and sweep every leg on a hole and you take a bonus point. Down in a segment? The scorer can press from any hole, and that starts a fresh bet to the end of the stretch.
Strokes come off the low handicap in the group, who plays off scratch; everyone else gets the difference, and the dots on the card show exactly where you get one. The leaderboard shows the segment in progress and everyone’s running money. Open it up and each stretch reads like a TV match card: every player’s gross, birdie circles, stroke dots, the team’s deciding number and the running margin.

Options
Format
Best Net Ball (default), Total (both nets added), Hi·Low (two points a hole), or Hi·Low·Total (three points a hole). In the points formats the side with more points wins the segment.
Pairing order
Choose which partnership plays holes 1–6, 7–12 and 13–18: six orders, all of them a true round robin. Default is P1+P2, then P1+P3, then P1+P4 (P1 = lowest handicap). Mix it up round to round.
Stake
Dollars per player, per segment. Win a six-hole match and you and your partner each collect it; a halved segment pays nothing. $0 works if you’re playing for the shirt.
Sweep bonus
Points formats. On by default: take every leg on a hole and your side banks a bonus point. Switch it off if your group plays it straight.
Cumulative Points Bet
Points formats only. Every player banks their team’s points all day; the leader collects (the leader’s points − yours) × your rate from everyone, and a tie at the top splits the pot. Blank = off.
Handicap
100% by default, with 95/90/75/50 or gross available. Strokes are the difference off the low handicap in the group.
FAQ
How are the partnerships chosen?+
The organizer picks. The four players are seeded P1–P4 by handicap, P1 the lowest, and setup offers all six orders of the three partnerships (‘P1 partners P2 → P3 → P4’, ‘P4 → P2 → P3’ and so on). Whatever the order, everyone partners everyone exactly once. Pick a different order each round to keep it fresh.
How does the money work?+
Each segment is a match worth one stake a player. Win holes 1–6 at $10 and you and your partner are each +$10, they’re each −$10. Three segments plus any presses is the whole day, and settle-up shows what every player put in and took out.
What’s Hi·Low·Total?+
Every hole is three one-point matches: your side’s low net against theirs, your high net against theirs, and the two nets added against theirs. A tie on a leg is no point. Take all three and you get a fourth, the sweep bonus (unless you’ve switched it off). The side with the most points takes the segment.
Can we press?+
Yes. The scorer taps ‘＋ Press this match’ on any hole. That starts a fresh bet for the same stake, from that hole to the end of the six-hole stretch, decided the same way as the segment.
Why do I get fewer strokes than my handicap?+
Sixes plays off the low handicap. That player gives strokes and everyone else gets the difference at the game’s allowance, so a 6 playing with a 2 gets four. The dots on the card show exactly which holes they fall on.
